sticky, brown,
slick with sweat,
mix me with
the absinthe of
your Paris rhythms
your Harlem rhythms
and sketch me
in your peeling paint
attic,
undraped and
distant
like your personal David

out of the publishing party
early,
breathless,
your fingers in
a ring around my wrist
and heady with
a deep, red
South African
wine,
tasting fingers,
biting numb lips,
and raising your skirt
