Bottoms Up!
Cocktails For Santa Fe Fever
by Violet Skye

Whether you choose to put the fire of tequila in the drink, or to simply experience the pure tang of the lime...here are the very best Southwestern Drink recipes to get your cha cha heels stomping.

Loco Virgin Limeade (for two)

Gingerale or Soda to taste
1 oz Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice
1 oz Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
fresh lime wedge for garnish

Pour the fresh juices into a metal shaker with ice; shake it up while dancing the Salsa. Strain and serve over ice in a large, festive glass. Top juice mixture with about 8 to 10 oz of soda or gingerale. Squeeze the lime wedge in rythym with your hips as you Conga through the kitchen-- Ole' !

Hot Mamasita Margaritas (for two)

These are classic margaritas, served straight up in a salted martini glass. The secret to their perfection is freshly-squeezed lime and (surprise!) a splash of fresh orange juice. This is the perfect fiery drink to quench that yearning...

1/3 cup Cuervo Gold tequila
1/3 cup Cointreau or Grand Marnier liqueur
2 oz fresh lime juice
2 oz fresh orange juice

Put on a hot Latin Jazz CD. In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine all the ingredients. Shake sensuously until icy cold and strain slowly into two wide, salt-rimmed martini glasses. Feel the hot, grateful kisses of your lover after you hand them the perfect Margarita. Enjoy!
