A Bi-Friendly Place

bisexualThe Bi Experience: Real Life Storiesbisexual

bisexual

The Bi Experience is a collection of real life bisexual stories written by bi-friendly people who are from all different walks of life, but who happen to identify as bisexual, bi-curious or bi-questioning. These are not professional writers or necessarily activists, but everyday bi people who want to share their lives with you.

Want to write your own bi experience?  Here are the simple guidelines.

Write Your Own Bi Experience

"The Bi Experience" is meant to offer a place for expression, and to offer a place for others to read about your life so that they won’t feel alone. What we are seeking most are memoirs and current tales about what it feels like to be bisexual. The range and scope of the bisexual identity and experience is wide. Please take a moment to share your feelings with us, even if you don’t consider yourself  “a writer.” All essays will be carefully edited for grammar and spelling-- so don’t worry, your work is in good hands and will be presented in an attractive, appealing Web setting.

Each essay should be true-to-life, written in a casual, conversational manner about your personal bisexual experience. We are not particularly seeking stories about sexual exploits, but we will not censor our postings from graphic sexual explanation should you choose to include it.

  • How did you know you were bi?
  • When was your first experience with being or feeling bisexual?
  • Did you come out? What was it like?
  • Are you still closeted? Why?
  • Have you faced prejudice from the gay or straight communities? Tell us about it.
  • Is there a special person, family member or group who supports you?
  • What does it mean to you to be bisexual? Share this with us.
Of course, you may opt to publish your work anonymously. We do ask that you at least create a “first name only” pen name or nickname under which to publish. Please send your essays of 500-3000 words within the body of an email to: sexcats@earthlink.net. No attachments will be accepted. Please send in plain text- no HTML markups, fonts, colors or backgrounds in the message.

Please include the following information:

Name: (Whatever name you wish to publish under, may be an alias or your real name.)

Gender: (Male, female, transgendered, whatever your gender identity may be.)

Location: (You may be specific such as “London, England” but at least include your country or region such as “Southeast United States”)

Sexual Identity: (bisexual, bi-curious, gender indifferent, polyamorous, bi-questioning, etc. You may choose as many identities as may apply to you.)

Thank you for having the courage to write. I look forward to publishing your essay to help connect the bi community. No monetary payment will be offered, as this is a free site, but your help is sincerely appreciated and needed. Thank you! Your essay can really make a difference.
